Support » Plugin: WooCommerce PDF Invoices & Packing Slips » Text printing on top of other text

  • As of about four weeks ago, the text on invoices and packing slips prints on top of other text in the PDF files, both invoice and packing slips. I have updated to the latest version of Woocommerce (5.0.0) and tried inactivating all plug-ins that I think might have something to do with the issue, but nothing has helped. I have also tried running Woocommers under another browser (first Firefox then Edge), but that hasn’t helped either. The plug-in has worked like a charm for several years, so I am very happy with it, but all of a sudden the invoice is compressed so that it only takes up about five centimeters at the top of the invoice and the text is completely impossible to read. We use the standard template and we have not created any templates of our own.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @magnussmarta,

Could you please share your System Configuration and Write Permissions under WooCommerce > PDF Invoices > Status tab?

For this you can use imgur.com or any other image sharing service.

I look forward to your reply! 🙂

Don’t want to hijack this thread but it seems like a very similar issue if not the very same that we’re experiencing. Forgive me if this is not the case.

Attaching a link of the output and also the issue we’re seeing on an invoice (packing slip looks similar).

    Hello @johnny_n,

Could you please try to click on the Reinstall fonts button under WooCommerce > PDF Invoices > Status to check if it fixes this issue?

Let me know if it works!

P.S. I agree that it’s better to open a new ticket to follow your case 🙂

@yordansoares that worked! Next time I’ll open a new ticket. Thank you!

Sorry, that it has taken me some time to respond. I wanted to give it a go on my own first, since I found a few things under the Status tab.

First of all, re-installing fonts unfortunately did not do the trick.

You can see some screen shots here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kQCH5wnSIS3LkYS88Vtnpwia6Ptd25oX/view?usp=sharing

When looking under Status I saw that the memory was not enough, so I fixed that. However, there are also error messages around a number of temp folders. It seems unlikely that the issue is that the folders are set to read-only since I am working with a service provider and I have no problems writing in other folders.

I tried creating a temp folder and adding a line for that folder in wpconfig (both marked in red), but that had no effect on the error message.

I then though I would check if the fonts were in the wrong place as per the instruction in the error message under Status. However, I found a lot of fonts folders, and I am not sure which one the error message refers to. I have listed the fonts folders I found in the document.

I am reluctant to ask you for WordPress support, which is why I gave this a go on my own, but now I am at a loss, since I am not sure how I should act in accordance with the error message under Status.

In the linked document you will also find a screenshot of what the invoice looks like.

    Best regards,
    Magnus

    Hello @magnussmarta,

Looking at your screenshots, it’s definitely related to permissions issues. You should provide write permissions to the uploads directory so that you can generate your PDF files without problems.

See How to Fix File and Folder Permissions Error in WordPress.

Alternatively, you could also ask your hosting provider for support.

Let me know if you solve it!
