Support » Plugin: Simple Side Tab » text orientation from top to bottom

  • Resolved efredde

    I need helpl. I used this plugin before and was able to set it up so it is on the right side with the text having an orientation so that it starts at the top of the tab.

    On my new site I cannot get this orientation, instead the text starts at the bottom going up.

    how can I fix this?

    Thank you!

    Hey efredde,

    Thank you for using Simple Side Tab.

    Please send the links to both of the sites so I can compare the adjusted code/css.

    Here is the site I want it to look like,

    The other site isnt public yet, but I havent done any changes to the code or css on the simple side tab.

    Please see if you can find out if something is different on this public site above.

    Thank you!

    If you display the tab on the left, the text appears to be bottom to top based on how the tab is rotated. Displaying the tab on the right does just the opposite, it displays from top to bottom.

    On your other site, do you have the tab set to display on the left side?

    No on my other site the tab is set to display on the right side as well.

    The site you checked is how I want it to look on my new site.

    On the private site this is how the simple side tab looks when configured to show on the right.

    If this helps here is a pic when I’ve inspected the tab,

    That is strange. Can you please check to see if both sites are running the same version of the plugin. Once I have the version number you are running, i can dig in and figure this out for you.

    Sorry for so much back and forth. I appreciate you taking the time to work this out.

    Np, happy to get help 🙂

    Version at is 1.1.2 and at the private site is 1.2.0

    Thank you very much for providing the versions of the plugin on each site. The newer version handles the tab a bit differently in order to fix the offset issue we were having for right side tabs. I had to change the orientation in order to pull it off.

    Try applying this to the private site running 1.2.0:

    .rum_sst_right {
        right: 37px;
        cursor: pointer;
        -webkit-transform-origin: 100% 100%;
        -moz-transform-origin: 100% 100%;
        -o-transform-origin: 100% 100%;
        -ms-transform-origin: 100% 100%;
        -webkit-transform: rotate(90deg);
        -moz-transform: rotate(90deg);
        -ms-transform: rotate(90deg);
        -o-transform: rotate(90deg);
        transform: rotate(90deg);
        -moz-border-radius-topright: 10px;
        border-top-right-radius: 0px;
        -moz-border-radius-topleft: 10px;
        border-top-left-radius: 0px;
        border-bottom-left-radius: 10px;
        border-bottom-right-radius: 10px;

    When that is updated on the public site, you’ll need this code as well.

    Give it a shot and let me know how it goes. 🙂

    Yes it works great! Thank you for your help 🙂
