text link to built-in gallery displaying in fancybox?

    Hi
    I have a site where, in one specific page, I want to display images from a built-in wordpress gallery in fancybox for wordpress, triggered from a text-link.

    The gallery is display:none at load. I retrieve the first of the attached images, and create a text link to this with class fancybox.
    This works ok in fancybox, but there are two problems:

    1. I only get the image, and no alt-text to it.
    2. This image displays twice: the first time without alt-text, and when clicking through the images of the gallery in fancybox view, the same image appears again, this time with the alt-text below.

    The best would have been to link directly to the gallery-images, but unfortunately I can’t find a way to do that.
    Any hints are appriceated.
