    I haven’t been on my site in almost a month due to illness, and just today when I went to my home page I discovered that every blog post and page was infected with “text link spam” from some online pharmacy-there were links right in the middle of sentences i.e. “buy ampicillin without a prescription” and “buy cialis by the pill” and other junk. ..I went in and deleted each one manually-a major pain.

    I had been using “Zemanta” an application and Firefox widget that helps to add content to your site-with your permission, of course! I deleted that, too, but I’m not even sure it was the culprit here. I also had some strange changes and additions to my sidebars that I did not make that I also fixed.
    Has this ever happened to anyone else? I’m freaking out. Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening again? I have Akismet installed.
