[Resolved] Text in main container overlaps into sidebar with Responsive enabled

  • Hi
    I’m using theme version 1.17.3 and the main container or the right sidebar contents are overlapping when using a screen resolution of 1024×768.

    Looking through the Support Forum this was apparently going to be fixed in version 1.16 and yet on my website it is not.

    How can we solve this issue? If we can’t then I will have to change it for another theme that works.

    I don’t really want to change it as it is nice looking and I have spent many hours on it trying to get it right.

    Thanks

    Colin

  • Hey.

    I still run WP 3.5.2 (there is a CC slider bug with WP 3.6.x) and don’t see that overlapping while testing my site.

    What online viewing tools do you use or you just play with your monitor resolution settings?

    Never mind, I was able to duplicate this issue.

    I just picked a random site from themekraft showcase running WP 3.6 and saw that overlapping when using a screen resolution of 1024×768.

    I would suggest to downgrade to WP 3.5.2 either pick another theme.

    Hi Bottleneck
    I put the website together using my laptop with a resolution of 1444×900 & when I went to show what I had done that is when I noticed the overlapping problem.

    They had a 15″ screen with a resolution of 1024×768….

    At the moment I’m not using the slider but it looks like there are other bugs that need to be dealt with.

    What’s the best way of downgrading as I’ve had to do it before?

    Thanks for responding and having a look.

    Hi
    Just downgraded to 3.5.2 and the problem is still there….

    Looks like a different theme now unless anyone else have any suggestions?

    Colin

    I think I have solved it….

    When the screen is set to 1024×768 the width is set at 80%, which is too wide so the content overlaps into the sidebar. I changed it to 75% and it is now working. So simple.

    Change the width in custom-responsive.css and look for the media query for 1024 and then locate the line below and change the width.

    #container .row-fluid .span8, .row-fluid .span8{
    width: 75%;
    }

    The only problem here now is that I have changed a theme file so it will be overwritten with the next update or unless the developers of this nice theme changes this in the next update.

    Colin
