• Hi. YARPP version 4.2.4.

If I have the related post display type set to ‘list’ the text that I have for “Default display if no results: ‘ is working as it should.

However, if I have the related post display type set to ‘thumbnail’ the text that I have for the default display is ignored, and the heading, with nothing below it, shows up instead.

    Thanks!

    More information about this….

    WP 4.0.1, btw.

So if I don’t have any related posts that YARPP has found, I don’t want anything displayed. So, I changed the ‘Default display if no results:’ to nothing. Just an empty text box.

If I the display type set to ‘List’, it works as I would expect. At the bottom of a post where there aren’t any relateds, I see nothing.

If I set the display type to ‘thumbnail’ at the bottom of a post where there aren’t any relateds, I see:

    Related posts:

    (and then nothing)

I had the idea to put some random text in the ‘default display’ textbox (let’s say xyzzy), and now, If I have the display type set to ‘List’, at the bottom of a post where there aren’t any relateds, I see:

    xyzzy

If I have the display type set to Thumbnail, I see:

    Related Posts:
    xyzzy

So, the behavior is definitely not orthogonal.
