• Hey,

Adding a text widget does not allow any editing. It used to appear on the right hand side (hebrew) but does not anymore.

Instead, we’re getting a JS error:
Cannot read property ‘toolbar1’ of undefined

I guess that’s a conflict with another plugin. We highly recommend that you do the following steps to resolve the problem:

    – Deactivate all of your plugins. If this solves the problem, gradually activate your plugins one by one, until you spot the problematic plugin.

    – If you have a caching plugin, make sure you deactivate it, or even better – purge the cache.

    – Change your WordPress theme to WordPress TwentySixteen (or other default WordPress theme).

All plugins have been disabled. No caching plugin is active.

We’re using the Ultimatum Framework and nothing more.

    Hi @rets,
Ultimatum contains many components which make it difficult to debug.
    Which version are you using?
    We will look into it.

I’m having the same problem, does not appear anything.

    @boazpojo – it’s Ultimatum 2.9.0

I have to say that I find it frustrating that everytime a plugin does not work I am told it is a conflict with another plugin. The implication is the other plugin does not work. I use a lot of plugins. They all work together. I come to use elementor and the text editor does not work. What am I going to do if I find it clashes with a plugin that I use everywhere? Spend months trying to redo the work of the other plugin. Sorry to take it out on you, but it seems to be a common fault, lets blame the other plugin developer. I had high hopes your plugin would save me time. Guess it will not.

Yes frustrating indeed, I share the same, but what you’re implying is technically impossible to avoid as it’s the nature of any plug-able system which has millions of plugins written by millions of individuals of many different caliber and experience, language and geographic distances, etc…you get the idea I hope =)

As long as we have the freedom to write our own code, any way we see fit, this problem will exist. Not everyone uses the same methods and often there is no right or wrong way to do something.

The implication when someones says it’s “likely a plugin conflict” is just that. A conflict.

It’s not always to point blame even though yes, some people choose to do that and sometimes indeed it’s due.

However, more often it’s not one plugin developer’s fault over the other and the fix is just as likely to be polar as well in which whoever addresses it first likely gets the job done.

They key focus of this community is to help each other find and fix these things. This is why we suggest methods to determine where the conflict is such as disabling plugins/themes temporarily.

“What am I going to do if I find it clashes with a plugin that I use everywhere?”

Take care in how you perform your updates. Prepare backups for roll backs if needed.

This is by design of free open source software that allows community driven advancements, if you don’t like it, check out Wix, Weebly or Squarespace where you CAN point blame when something doesn’t work because THEY are the only ones writing the software =)

Oh and Ultimatum is not free so the Elementor Team would have to have access to a copy to be able to debug it.

I know Onur Demir personally and am also very familiar with Ultimatum. It is truly a unique theme unlike no other and have often ran into plugin conflicts because it does not necessarily do things the way most (and I mean 99.9%) of WordPress themes do. It bootstraps WP templating to use it’s own database driven method.

I love Ultimatum, but it’s not for everybody and personally I’d like to see it progress more than it has in the last 2 years.
