thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.
I’m not really sure why this is happening for you, but this is likely caused by “escaping”, as that < symbol marks the beginning of a HTML tag (like <img> for images). To work around this, please try writing it like this:
1 < 2
(that’s an & followed by lt;. I just need to write it like this because the forums software otherwise replaces it with < again…)
