Depending on the background image and the device that it is viewed on, the text sometimes gets washed out. Is there a way to add a border around the letters of the text? I know I can add a background shade but that detracts from the image. I suppose a Caption option might also work, a little unclear as how to change the text in the caption?

    Hi @lestexas60

Are you looking for the Text shadow option: https://www.w3schools.com/cssref/css3_pr_text-shadow.asp

You can find it at the Layer window > Style tab > under Typography > after clicking the More button:

I will try the shadow and see if that works for me. This is such a flexible tool. I see where you can show the title or caption of an image using the text bar. Is there any way to add a Caption bar below the image and then use the header/text options to fill that bar? I keep running into responsive issues when I use the text layers. When you add a background to the text and then reduce the Opacity in the background area, it also reduces the actual text opacity.

    Hi @lestexas60

The text bar can only use the Slide title and description as its content: https://smartslider.helpscoutdocs.com/article/1724-slide
But it can be positioned below the slide using it’s Position setting:

What kind of responsive problems do you have with layers? We have tutorial videos, which I can recommend watching to learn more about the slide editing and responsive behavior:

Although all of them are very useful, I think these would help the most.

Thank you for your help with the videos. I did find the solution to the Background opacity. You can’t use the Opacity setting in your Background control box but if you click the background color setting, you can use the slider on the color picker. The Instructions are a little misleading . Like so many multi function tools, it’s just learning where everything is located. 🙂

    Hi @lestexas60

Great, I’m glad you were able to figure that out! Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to see the question about the background opacity, as it was edited to the question around the time I wrote the reply. I didn’t see that new part, as it was edited into the message shortly after I sent my reply, sorry about that!

In any case, I’m glad you were able to figure it out!
