[Resolved] TewntyTen Spacing Issue Above Main Nav Menu

  • Hello All,

    I am using a TwentyTen child theme and I am having a lot of difficulty removing the space between the header area (contains logo) and the main navigation menu.

    See: http://www.bayenterprises.ie/wip/

    I would ideally like to decrease this spacing to in and or around 10px.

    Any suggestions would be much appreciated?

    That space is from the site-description div — even though you have no content in it, the margins are still there:

    #site-description {
        clear: right;
        float: right;
        font-style: italic;
        margin: 15px 0 18px;
        width: 220px;
    }

    You might want to add this to your child CSS to get rid of those margins:

    #site-description {
       display: none;
    }

    WPyogi, thank you so much, worked a treat.

    I changed the margin settings as you suggested. I would never have found this solution in a month of Sundays.

    LOL — the best way to work with CSS issues is by using a tool such as Firebug (or Chrome Inspector) which easily shows you what CSS code is affecting parts of the page/code. You can then try out changes to the CSS code in Firebug — before actually making them to your site. IMHO, it’s impossible to do any kind of web design work without it!
