 * Hi,
 * I have a just installed WordPress site. I have made it multisite as I want to
   have it in two languages.
 * After installing a plugin and destroy everything, now I’m trying to understand
   how to create a testing site to test before I destroy again the real one. After
   talking with the server support they have recommend me to create a subdomain
   and create there the testing site.
 * At this point, I have installed WordPress again and create a different password
   for it. The database is a new one as well. I didn’t make it multisite yet.
 * After I saw this video ([http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/website/wordpress/duplicate-wordpress-site-for-testing](http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/website/wordpress/duplicate-wordpress-site-for-testing))
   that seems quite good, but there is nowhere where it talks about a new password
   for WordPress.
 * When it happens that I broke the site, I could not even access to WordPress panel.
   So that’s why I was thinking that was safer to create a new user and password.
 * Any recommendations?
 * Thanks

 * Every WP install should, at the very least, have its own, unique password. That’s
   just good digital hygiene.
 * In future, if you have problems after installing/activating a new plugin, renaming
   or deleting that plugin’s folder within wp-content/plugins should be sufficient
   to get up and running again.

 * Hi esmi,
 * Thanks for your quick answer. The thing is that this time I could not even access
   to the Cpanel, so I had to reinstall everything again.
 * Good to know that I need to have a unique password for each install. So then
   if I want to make a copy of the site 1 to site test. I need to:
    1. site make
   it multisite as well 2. copy folders from site 1 to site test 3. change the wp-
   config from 1 to test, and look for files with site 1 name and change to site
   test
 * I guess this is everything?
 * Thanks again

 * There are some [duplicator plugins](https://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=duplicate)
   out there that might help but I’ve no idea if/how they handle multisites.
 * Why are you copying folders? Copying themes and plugins across will work ok but
   not uploaded media. The latter will still need to be registered in the duplicate
   site’s database. Again, a plugin like [http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/add-from-server/](http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/add-from-server/)
   should help with that.

 * Hi again,
 * I just want to have a duplicated site to test, so I was thinking I need to have
   the same content to try the plugins or changes …? I’m new on this and I don’t
   really know how to make it as good as possible so after I don’t have issues when
   the site will be online.
 * Thanks

 * Since you intend to launch a WordPress multisite, I’d suggest asking about duplicator
   plugins in the multisite forum. The folks in there may have a better idea of
   what plugins (if any) work with multisite. I’m a bit useless on that score –
   sorry.

    have a nice day!!
