 * I’m bored with my theme “[i3Theme](http://www.mangoorange.com/resources/i3theme/#download)”
by MangoOrange. It has served me well but it’s time for a switch.
 * Can you test other themes and get them tweaked the way you want them before actually
switching over? If so, how do you go about doing this?

 * Yes! you of course can edit a theme from the wordpress theme editor however I
wouldnt recommend editing a live site on the spot. The best way to go about this
is to setup a localhost which allows you run wordpress from a test environment
   on your own computer.

 * OK…sounds good. How do I set up a localhost?

 * Great! Thanks. Now, how do I set up a localhost on my computer? A link to instructions
   would be helpful.

 * You can also install a second instance of wordpress in its own folder on your
server and mess with a new theme there. That’s what I’m currently doing.
 * (To do this you simply follow the wordpress installation instructions from the
start..including creating a (second) SQL database for this purpose)

 * Or you can just use the plugin that makes the admin theme different from the
   user theme.

 * Im using it on my webpage and have had no problems what so ever. It works like
   a charm =)

 * I’ve never worked with wordpress before, so I decided I would create a new theme
based on the default theme. I copied the ‘default’ directory to ‘d2’ and with
no other edits, went to the preview pane. It was there, but I couldn’t preview
it (blank screen). I thought it was just a name space collision or is there something
I should be aware of? I tried changing the Template name, version, author, description(
and those changes showed up), and clearing the browser cache, but it still wouldn’t
   preview.
