    Hi,

I’m currently testing UpDraft Plus (free version) with Google Drive. And if everything works well, we might upgrade to Premium.

First off, I’m seeing that I can just now automatically authorize Google Drive (so I no longer need the Google API setup?).

Next, I tried to do a backup and I got this warning:
2721.987 (9) [Warning] Table wp_qbbyvw_postmeta has very many rows (601030) – we hope your web hosting company gives you enough resources to dump out that table in the backup If not, you will need to either remove data from this table, or contact your hosting company to request more resources.

What confuses me now is that it still supposedly uploaded a backup to Google Drive but I cannot find it anywhere. How do I get to the backup zip file? The plugin says I have used 2.3G of server disk space. How do I delete that if I cannot even get to the file?

Hope to hear back from you soon. Thank you!

    Hi,

Please could you send us a copy of the backup log?

This can be found in the UpdraftPlus Existing Backups tab.

The contents will be too long to post here directly, but you can use an online service such as Pastebin, and post the link here.

The above warning is letting you know that the table wp_qbbyvw_postmeta is very big and budget shared hosting will probably fail to restore it.

If there were no errors then the backup was successful.

If you have correctly connected Google Drive then your backups should now be on your Google Drive account under the UpdraftPlus folder. If you haven’t properly connected Google Drive then the backups maybe stored on your server.

The backup log will help us better understand what has gone on.

    Best Wishes,

    Ashley

    Hi Ryan,

From the log, there is a very long time between runs.
Usually, if a backup is timed out, a resumption is triggered after 5 minutes.

However, in this case, the gaps are very long, and the backup eventually aborts as it detects being over 2 days overdue.
As such, the backup is not able to even attempt to process the large database table.

As the site appears to be a staging site, the issue is most likely to be caused by the lack of visitors (Backups can only run when the site is loaded into memory (i.e. a user visits the site).
I would recommend the following guide, which includes some suggestions for setting up dummy visits or cron jobs to allow the backups to run promptly:

Thanks! We’re going live soon. I’ll just ask for more help if backup doesn’t work by then.
