Testimonials appearing over Facebook comment box

  • Website: http://www.juliberrybooks.com

    I’ve placed the Floating Social Bar on this website’s home page just above the Testimonial Rotator widget. When someone clicks on the FB Like button, the FB panel was visible but under the Testimonials section (z-index). I found a z-index style or code for the testimonials, but it’s using an element (in-line) style created by the code so I can’t change that. I’m not sure why the z-index is necessary but I believe this is why I’m having this issue.

    So I found that if I gave a z-index of 100 to the class “.fb_edge_widget_with_comment” the Facebook comment box appears over the testimonials – except when the testimonials switch – a testimonial appears over the box for a moment while it’s switching and then goes away.

    Is there any way for you to look into this?

    Hopefully this may help someone else.

    Thanks! Chris.

    @halgatewood

    We are using jQuery Cycle 2 to handle the rotating part of the plugin. It auto creates hidden versions of the slides so they can slide (or fade) in and out smoothly. It uses absolute position to make them appear next to each other.

    Creating a higher z-index on the surrounding elements is probably the only way to get around this.

    Thanks for the post.
