Trying to find out more info on how to make the EVENT for Testimonial work. I can’t find any documentation for this. I want to award my customers a point when they upload a picture in a testimonial, but there isn’t additional info. Do I need a specific testimonial plugin to have this work?

    Hi Dave,

Which testimonial plugin are you currently using? WordPoints doesn’t have support for any particular testimonial plugin built in, but it will automatically integrate with any plugin that is using custom post types. That is likely why you are seeing a testimonials event. The event should work properly, so if it doesn’t, that is a bug I’ll need to look into. But first I need to know which plugin you’re using.

Hi JD – Sorry I’ve been slow to reply. I’m using the testimonial tool called “Easy Testimonials” –

The link is to their PRO version – I haven’t upgraded yet – only using their free version at this point.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi Dave,

Sorry for the delayed reply, I was super busy the last few days. Here is how you can award points for testimonials only if they include images. You will need to use the Conditions settings of the event. Click the “+” sign next to “Conditions” in the event reaction form. A couple of dropdowns will show. In the first one, you want to select “Testimonial ยป Content” (this is the default). In the second, select “Contains” (again, the default). Since these are the defaults they will already be selected, so you can just click the “Add” button next to them. Then, in the form for the condition, enter “<img” in the “Word or phrase” field. Then scroll down and hit the Save button. Now the points will only be awarded when the testimonial contains an image.

I think this is a feature that I may add a special condition for in the future, so that people don’t have to know exactly what code to enter in that field. But until then, you can just enter “<img”, and it should work fine (although it won’t be 100% fool-proof).
