    I’ve installed your plugin on my site, and just now tried testing it out with someone on a different computer.

    In case it makes any difference I’m based in Italy and the visitor was in the UK, but both on good internet connections (we were speaking clearly via FaceTime as we were testing it).

    I received the notification of a visitor and a chat that I was able to open and write in, but when I opened the chat and typed “hello” he couldn’t see the message I wrote, and I never received anything from him. He said it just appeared to freeze at his end, and couldn’t get past the “start chat” screen after putting in his name and email, but clearly this prompted a chat at my end.

    Any ideas what could cause this? We tried 3 times with the same result.

    I really like the plugin and want to test it a bit before upgrading got pro, but obviously if it’s not working…

    Thank you so much for getting in touch, and our sincere apologies for the trouble you are having on your side.

    I had a look at the site, and ran a few simple tests from my side. I believe I have found a conflict present on the site which would cause other JavaScript functionality to become unreliable in some instances.

    When viewing your website source I noticed your theme is including the default version of jQuery which comes bundled with WordPress, this is standard behavior for most themes and most plugins make use of this version of jQuery for basic functionality.

    I then noticed the theme is including a second version of jQuery as well, which would cause for a conflict to occur in the JavaScript Runtime engine. This would cause unexpected behavior such as message delivery issues, animation issues and more in WP Live Chat Support.

    I found the second version of jQuery is loading from here: /themes/understrap-child/owl-assets/vendors/jquery.min.js

    It is important to note that although the visual effects are obvious with WP Live Chat Support, this conflict would effect multiple plugins on your site in some way. It may even result in some default theme functionality to behave unexpectedly.

    Are you aware of this duplicate jQuery call on your site/theme? If so, would you be able to resolve the issue by only loading the default WordPress bundled version of jQuery?

    Thanks so much for your reply.

    You were absolutely right – I tried again this morning from my laptop to the desktop, but same issue.

    Removed the link to the duplicate jQuery and it worked – also tested with someone working remotely from myself, and no problem.

    I think that link was left when testing a carousel script, and it works fine without it so not sure why I left it in!

    Thank you for your help. Plugin works great, very tempted to go pro so I can brand it and initiate chats!
