 * I have been looking for a good calendar plugin and this looked like it might
fit the bill so I decided to take this for a test drive.
 * The documentation is pretty good but has a couple of issues and I am encountering
   an issue.
 * I performed the following steps.
 * 1. I created a calendar
    2. I created two different event categories and assigned
them their own colors. 3. I created a couple of events in my calendar.
 * Now here is where I ran into issues.
 * I created a new page and tried to insert the calendar into a page by performing
the steps outlined in section 7 of the user’s manual I perform the steps.
 * 7.1 Press the button named Insert Spider Calendar.
    7.2 Select Calendar. Mine
is Test Schedule. 7.3 Select Theme. Since this is the free version the only template
available is “Shiny Blue” 7.4 Select Default View. I select Month and leave all
the defaults for the check boxes. 7.5 Save the page or post. Actually the next
step here would be to click the Insert button.
 * When I click the Insert button the popup box for these settings changes to contain
   only a zero.
 * I tried changing my theme to a default theme of Twenty Fifteen and deactivating
all other plugins, with the exception of Spider Event Calendar . Same result.
so this would appear to me to be a bug in your product.
 * So to test I tried to insert the calendar into the page using the shortcode defined
   in the user guide under step 7.5 [Spider_Calendar id=”1″ theme=”10″ default=”
   month” select=”month,list,week,day,”]
 * I changed this to reflect my calendar id, which is 5. I see this id when I navigate
   to Calendar->calendars.
 * I had played around with four other calendars previously and then deleted them
before creating the one I am working with. So the shortcode I used is as follows:
 * [Spider_Calendar id=”5″ theme=”10″ default=”month” select=”month,list,week,day,”]
 * When I do this a calendar appears i n the page however it is not properly formatted.
I thought, maybe, even though I used the shorcode that is in your documentation,
I thought that maybe the default theme in the free version would be theme 1.
So I changed it from 10 to 1 in the shorcode and updated the page. Still the
calendar is formatted incorrectly. Only by digging through the support forums
did I find a reference to theme #13. for a different issue. This actually worked.
I would respectfully suggest that you update your documentation to use the theme
number of Shiny Blue, which is the only theme available in the free version,
as doing so will make it easier for others to test drive your product prior to
   purchasing it.
 * Looking at your support forums it appears that you do not provide any form of
access control. For my purposes it would be very useful to have functionality
where you could create calendars and assign/limit responsibility to update a
calendar to a specific role. Let me give you an example. If you have a business
with multiple departments it would be nice to give each department their own
calendar and not allow people from other departments to update/delete events
in the calendar. I saw in one forum post that your support team recommends using
a plugin but when asked how that would accomplish the goal your team just basically
ignored the request. It would appear to me that this functionality would have
to be built into the calendar plugin.
 * Another feature that would be nice would be to select a calendar and be able
to print a list of events for a specific date range. with all of the details
for each event. I did not find this. The list format is close but it only includes
the Event name and time. It does not contain any of the information that was
entered into the Note section of the Event Details creation screen.
 * Thank you for considering my comments.

 * Thank you for your notes. We will modify the user guide changing the theme ID,
though with the original insert button, it should have worked just fine.
 * Administrator role change might be added with an update, though it is not planned
in close future. As for the event display of certain dates you can use upcoming
events widget. We do not plan to include date range in our updates.
