On our charity site we have galleries with many photos inside. Some of galleries have 1000+ photos and it takes 60s+ just to load one page. You can see it here:
It seems that Nextgen Gallery is not optimized for such big galleries (increasing server resources almost didn’t help). I enabled slow_log to find out slowly executing scripts and here is the result:
[0x00007f2f2cd047d8] icl_translate() /var/www/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/lib/core.php:354 [0x00007f2f2cd04250] i18n() /var/www/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/lib/image.php:111 [0x00007f2f2cd037c0] get_href_link() /var/www/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/lib/image.php:72 [0x00007f2f2cd02a60] nggImage() /var/www/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/lib/ngg-db.php:258 [0x00007f2f2cd01c40] get_gallery() /var/www/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/nggfunctions.php:161 [0x00007f2f2cd018d0] nggShowGallery() /var/www/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/lib/shortcodes.php:240
Is there anything I can do to fix this? Or maybe new version of Nextgen will work better with big galleries?
Thanks in advance!
