Terminology issue (how to layout content)

  • I’m using twentyten and would like to move all content except for the background (preferebly as one container if possible). My problem is that I don’t know what that container is called in the css and therefore don’t know what to look for. Does anyone know how I can perform this task?

Don’t edit the Twenty Ten theme. Your changes will be over-written the next time you upgrade WordPress or the theme. For this reason, it is recommended that you consider creating a child theme for your customisations.

Hi Esmi and thanks for your answer!

Actually I’m doing all changes in a child theme, should’ve mentioned that, sorry.

However, I would need to know the name of the container in the CSS file to be able to redefine the position.

Try using Firefox with the Firebug add-on.

    …or Chrome Developer Tools.

Or just look at header.php, and see which container DIVs are added.
