Template Problems (4 posts)

I have done a template somewhat myself based on another theme. It is a mess, but I am seeking help on only one part of it...

I want the main part where it has the posts, then the ad, then the pages column, to be the same size as the header/logo above it.
I am messing with the css and now have it all a mess most likely.
I have changed about everything and nothing is happening.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

You have a rather difficult situation as your theme uses table instead of divs for layout. However it might not be so hard after all.
From the looks of it and your stylesheet, it seems that you have widened the main table ( it has class="main" ) to 800 pixels, and maybe it's only a question of making your header image wider, say 800 pixels too. Or maybe bigger if you want it to reach over the whole width.

Looking a bit longer, I think you should make the image as wide as you main table and place it inside the table, to align it with the rest of the table content.

Thank you. I know this may not be the place but if I want to switch it to divs isntead of tables to be a more proper written site.

any pointers on where to start with those? Really there is only two tables so it should not be tough.

Try http://positioniseverything.net for good info about css. Also http://alistapart.com/, http://glish.com, http://meyerweb.com, and the archives at http://css-discuss.org.

And REALLY the "bottom line": http://www.w3schools.com/ - tutorials here beginning with html and css, and going on from there.
