# Template package?

 * Hi, This maybe a stupid question (or not) … learning WordPress templates here
   and will create my own them. Are there blank templates, or a basic template package
   that one downloads to customize? I can always create a new directory and copy
   the template files from another theme to the new directory and modify them. But
   I guess I was expecting some sort of basic template file package or something.
   Anything like this around? Or do people just copy files from another theme and
   modify? Thanks

 * Generally people modify an existing theme, it’s easier 🙂 I started with the 
   default theme that comes with wordpress, which taught me how the theme system
   in wordpress works.
