Support » Plugin: Business Directory Plugin » template oddity

  • Resolved candell

I am trying to theme up the directory, I placed the shortcode on the /business-directory/ page and set the category slug to ‘directory’. I have a category set up called ‘cakes’ and a listing within the category.

Without touching the templates when browsing /business-directory/ the url given for the cake category is /business-directory/directory/cakes/.

A direct copy/paste of the businessdirectory-category.tpl.php file from the plugin folder to my theme folder does strange things. The url for cakes now goes to /directory/cakes/ and the category name is missing.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

Have you disabled all other plugins and switched to a default theme to rule out a conflict of any type?

I disabled all plugins apart from this one, problem still there.

I then added the businessdirectory-category.tpl.php file to twentyten and twentyeleven themes and activated those and the same problem persists.

    Does no-one else get this?

edit: I have just downloaded a clean install of wordpress, installed the plugin and moved over the category template and the problem is there.

Hope that helps find a solution

We will try it out and see if we can reproduce it.

    Hi Candell,

So, it turns out that you’re following the “old convention” of the template overrides. That particular template you tried to use is the “old style”, not the new one. You should be using businessdirectory-listings.tpl.php if you want to theme any list of listings, which applies to category pages, of course.

The docs have been updated (for some reason, they were old as well, although the FAQ was right, but they’re both in sync now) to reflect this:
