• Hi everyone,

I am a beginner wordpress user, and I am trying to install a plugin called “Events List” which required me to create a custom template called events.php according to these instructions

    http://www.ternstyle.us/products/plugins/wordpress/wordpress-event-page-plugin/wordpress-event-page-plugin-how-to-make-it-work

I followed the instructions and uploaded the events.php template file into my themes folder.

When I try to add this template on to my “Events” page it is not showing up under the template drop-down. All that is showing up is “Default Template”

I did some research and found this in the WordPress Codex
“Note: Sometimes it is necessary to switch to the WordPress Default Theme, then back to your theme, for the Template choices to appear!”

I am wondering if it is safe to switch between themes quickly without losing and customization or anything else in the process. My website is built and launched so I dont want to mess everything up.

    Thanks for your time,

    Miro

Anyone able to help me out with this one? Thanks for your time.

Yes, it is safe. All Theme modifications (Widget settings, header image, background, custom nav menus) are stored in the database, and are retained when you switch from, and back to, your current Theme.
