I’ve been googling for this answer everywhere and tried absolutely everything. I’ve rechecked the CSS a million times I’m going crazy (lowercase lowercase lowercase – yep!)! I think I’m going dyslexic!
So I’m just trying to create a child theme. I’ve created the child folder /wp-content/themes/twentytwelve-child and have a style.css file in that folder that reads:
Theme Name: Twenty Twelve Child
Description: Child theme for the Twenty Twelve theme
Author: Your Name Here
It comes up with ‘Broken Theme’ on my theme page and the message ‘Template is missing’.
But the twentytwelve theme is there!! I have tried uninstalling twentytwelve theme, and installing it again. I’ve tried deleting the child folder and starting from scratch. I have even tried putting in a different theme names – it still comes up with the message ‘Template is missing’. All default templates are in the folder. This is the first action I’ve done since installing wordpress!
I know I am missing something vital if it’s not just happening to the twentytwelve theme but all the themes. Help me!
