[Resolved] Template Hierarchy

    @sonofadoc

    Hi all,

    I created a child theme of Twenty Fourteen. On a particular page (front page – static page)I’m using the full-width.php template. I copied the full-width.php template to my child theme folder. I try to make changes to it but nothing happens. If I make changes, after changing the page template (in Page Attributes panel) to the default which is page.php the changes occur as expected. What am I not seeing here?

    I guess I don’t understand how the template hierarchy works.

    Thanks in advance

    Custom page files have to be inside a custom-templates folder. For instance: full-width.php needed to be inside a folder named custom-templates inside my child theme folder. Senior moment.
