    Hi guys,

    I’m having a little trouble with template files.

    I understand that by placing:

    <?php
    /*
    Template Name: Name
    */
    ?>

    Within the php file name.php

    This should create a template option within edit/add new page admin.

    I had this working, then, randomly, it stopped. The above code is just fine, the only changes I’ve made are to the template it’s self.

    I have couple of templates within my theme directory, which worked with no problems. Now the template drop down box doesn’t appear – as though WordPress isn’t registering there are template files within my directory.

    I’ve tried doing a search online, but I came back with no results.

    Hopefully someone has experienced this before and can give me a helping hand,

    Thank you for your time,

    Krash.

  • I had this problem a while back and found one janky solution after a lot of search–sometimes switching to another theme in your install and then switching back to you primary theme will make your templates appear. I know that sounds weird, but worked for me for a while.

    Good call Scraster. Just switched to Classic theme then switched back to my custom theme and hey presto I’m back business.
