Hello Manuel,
This is a common WordPress issue and the best way to diagnose what is going wrong is to perform a theme and plugin conflict test. It sounds like you have only SSP, but have you tried switching to a default WordPress theme and also rolling back the version of WordPress and/or the SSP plugin? These steps can help give us more information where the issue is. Let us know if those steps provide any additional info.
Hi again,
I followed every single advice: Switched to a default theme, deactivated every plugin except for SSP. I didn’t roll back, because I don’t know how to, but I’m planning on reinstalling SSP. (EDIT: tried it, didn’t work.) I installed Query Monitor, just to check out load times, and it seemed to have solved the issue… for a few moments.
Additionally, I found another issue, that might be related: the player doesn’t seem to load when I’m viewing the post. Weird.

Hello,
There is a known issue with upgrades to WordPress 5.2 which could be causing this error. Check out this thread for some useful suggestions in troubleshooting a fix on your site https://wordpress.org/support/topic/the-site-is-experiencing-technical-difficulties/.
To rollback you can use a plugin found here in the Plugin repository https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-rollback/ or you can download previous releases of core at https://wordpress.org/download/releases/. With each website being very unique due to hosting, plugin configurations and themes, it can be a bit of a trial and error process fixing items like this.
For your issue on why the player doesn’t seem to load, you need to check in your settings under Podcast > Settings > General that you have the Media Player Locations and Position settings marked.
