I’m finding that if I use two different fields linked to the same taxonomy, the second one overrides the first.

For example, I like using checkboxes followed with an enhanced-UI textfield. This lets it serve as a sort of advanced “other” field.

However, I’m finding that it was overriding whatever entries were made in checkboxes.

    Any workarounds or help?

In the meantime I’m just using separate taxonomies and then using a terms manager to move and merge the terms together. It works, but it adds administrative overhead.

    Thanks for a great plugin!

  • Any help here, @bradvin?

so if 2 fields point to the same taxonomy, you want it to merge the values rather than override? Let me have a look at this and get back to you

You nailed it; if 2 fields point to the same taxonomy, I’d want it to merge the values rather than override the first.

That way a second textfield can function as an “other” field. (Even appearing conditionally, which is nice :-))

    Thanks for looking into this!!!

Was there any resolution with this? I have the exact issue / request, and would love to hear if there was a solution.
