# Taxonomy Image

 * My understanding is that when an image is uploaded to the Media Library alternate
   sized copies are created (thumbnail, etc) as defined in the settings.
 * During the creation/editing of a post, the editor’s right side panel allows for
   the insertion of the appropriately sized image.
 * However, during the creation/editing of a taxonomy term (category, tag) there
   is a basic ‘select image’ dialog which loads the full sized version of the image.
 * Is there a method by which an alternate sized version of the image may be utilised
   in place of the original upload — or am I simply missing something?

 * The support for images from the media library that has all the alternate sizes
   you’ve described is only support on posts or post types (eg pages), but not yet
   on taxonomies.
 * There are plugins in the WordPress repository that will enable this functionality
   for you, but it’s not current available in WordPress core.
