  • Hi!

Let’s say I’m writing a blog about cinema directors, each director has a post, below the main text I want to make a table of films by this director with genre, year, duration… what is the best way to do this? taxonomies or custom fields?

    thanks.

  • probably custom fields. There are plenty of good tutorials on custom fields available with a google search if you need help

taxonomies are like categories or tags, doesn’t seem like what you need if I’m reading correctly

    Ok!

Maybe with unordered lists and some CSS will work for now, but it would be interesting if I could edit all films outside of the director’s post like you can do with taxonomies.
    Thanks for answering!

Have you considered creating a custom post type for films? Then you could edit the films separately or even display them separately from the posts.

You could either use a custom taxonomy to associate films with directors, or just have a director field in each film post. And then for each director you could list the films that match that director.
