    Hello there!

We have a problem with tax calculation. We have set the tax rate to 7% for all products. Still the numbers do not add up as shown in the image below:

    https://ibb.co/LZjdWyH

The net sales are 1672,98€ but then it shows tax rates of 120,64€ which does not add up.
7% of 1672,98€ are 117,10€. This can’t be a rounding error, can it?

We would appreciate any help given!!

  • Hello,

    – Have you issued any refunds without affecting tax by any chance?

    – If the number is not correct, try importing historical date under Analytics > Settings to see if that helps:
    https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-analytics/#analytics-settings__import-historical-data

If the issue persists, please share the following so we can take a closer look at the issue:

System Status: You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

Screenshots of your tax settings and rates: I recommend https://snipboard.io for easily sharing screenshots – please follow the instructions on the page, then paste the URL in this chat. It works with Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.

Hello and thanks for the fast response!

You brought us on the right track!! The tax for the orders that were refunded, still show up as in the total taxes in the analytics dashboard as well as the reports… How can that be, and how can we adress this issue? The refunds were handled by the standard PayPal extension. We have included one of those refunds:

We would be happy if you could provide us with further help!

    Thank you.

    Hi @fewturewebdesign,

The Total Tax is the sum of Order Tax + Shipping Tax as mentioned here:

    https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-analytics/#analytics-basics__definition-of-terms

Can you go to Analytics > Taxes and check the totals there?

    Cheers.

    Hi there,

It’s been a while since we last heard back from you. I’m going to mark this thread as resolved.

Hopefully, you were able to find a way forward with the issue – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.

Hello, and sorry for the late response.

We managed to solve the issue:
It is a WooCommerce Bug, which results in txes not being processed correctly with refunds.
Whenever someone refunds an order, WooCommerce keeps the inital taxes on that order in its calculations.

You have to change the order-status from ‘Refunded’ to ‘Cancelled’ for Woocommerce to understand, that the taxes should be removed!

We hope that we could help someone.
