    I have been working on a dutch webshop using woocommerce but we are having some issues with the taxes.
    When we activate the setting “yes, prices are including taxes” than the system will calculate 21% taxes on top of the normal prices we give it. Except when we set the taxes of the product to no taxes.
    If we put the settings for the prices in the shop and cart/payment screen to “include taxes” the taxes will be added to the total price of the product.

    We got it to work perfectly when we are logged in but then when you log out it didn’t work at all. Currently we have all the tax calculation and stuff turned off to not cause problems for the users.

    What we need is to show the taxes in the shopping cart before the total price and also in the order email conformation. We want to show a text saying that the tax is included on every product page but this is not a big deal if it wont work.

    Anyone know what’s going on and how to solve it?

    I’m having a hard time understanding the issue here – would you mind sending through screenshots of how you have your taxes configured at the moment as well as how you’d like it to work?


    The settings I am using you can see in this screenshot. They are in dutch so i hope you can make sense of it. If not I could translate it for you.

    With these settings the total price in the shopping cart is like this. The problem here is that there is no tax being calculated. This is because now the tax status of the product is none.

    When I turn the tax calculation to standard this is what I get when being logged in. This is perfect like I want it.

    But when I try and get the same product in another browser (when not logged in) this is what I get. The tax is being removed from the total product price and won’t show up.

    I hope this explanation makes more sense and you understand the problem, if not please let me know.

    @maartenluijkx You have your settings set to calculate tax based on customer’s shipping address. If the customer is not logged in, or does not yet have a saved shipping address, then taxes are not able to be calculated if there are no rates that match.

    If you go to WooCommerce > Settings > General, what do you have set as the default customer address? If you set it to the Shop base address, and make sure that the shop base address has a matching address to a tax rule, then they should get tax included in the prices.

    Ah yes that seems to fix the problem.

    We did not set a default tax location. So it did not calculate the taxes.
