If a person puts in state of NY with the wrong zip code it calculates the tax based on the states tax which is 4% but does not add the county. Example someone put 11152 and city of Islip Terrace. This was calculated at 4% but should of been calculated at 8.625%. What should be done to prevent this from happening?

    Hi @ssslippy,

For the location of Islip Terrace, New York if you enter a correct zip code for that city which seems to be 11752 what tax rate do you then see being calculated?

Also, what is the city of your store address set to in WooCommerce > Settings > General > Store Address?

    Thanks

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

So my address is correct. The issue is we have county and state tax that are separate. The plugin calculated state tax which is 4%. The county tax is 4.625%. If the correct zip code is entered we get the proper 8.625% tax rate.

That sounds like the expected behaviour. The extension uses the zip code to determine the tax rates. I’ll be marking this thread as resolved for now, but if you need any further help then feel free to open a new thread.
