I've searched the FAQ's and forums and haven't quite found the answers to what I'm looking for and hoping someone can help.
I have a blog at http://www.michaelclinard.com/blog
Its hosted by Dreamhost as I downloaded the software from the wordpress.org site and I love wordpress. The issue is that I will soon be getting a Livebooks website which requires those (primarily photographers) who buy these sites to have them hosted by Livebooks' own servers which means I will be leaving Dreamhost in the next couple weeks.
Seems like I could just very easily store the blog on my Livebooks' server space but for the kind of website I'm getting from them, they only offer 1GB of storage space on their server for what have you (.zip files for clients, .pdf's, etc) which will soon be not enough for the blog and various files I need to store there for myself/people to download.
My question is this: Is it possible to get a new blog here at wordpress.com, export my old wordpress.org blog hosted by Dreamhost and reupload it to the new blog at wordpress.com having it save all of my old posts, images, etc? I guess I'm up to about 300mb of data on my blog currently (images, embedded video, etc.)
I understand that if I were wanting to have domain mapping to retain the name http://www.michaelclinard.com/blog, I'd have to pay $10/year at wordpress.com but have also seen where Dreamhost offers wordpress hosting for 6.95/month but I just want to see if what I'm talking about getting as far as getting the free blog makes sense as the only add-on I'd be in need of is the domain mapping.
Also, if this is a wordpress.org forum issue, my apologies. Thinking of posting it there as well since it touches on both wordpress iterations. Any and all help or recommendations regarding this matter is greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance,
