Tailor not working on wp-engine hosting

    Hi @lsvr,

    Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We will investigate this issue. As you referred to an old thread, which was marked resolved did you try to disable the mu-plugin added by Wp-engine? Does that resolve it?

    I do not host on WPengine, but two of my clients do (one of them is unfortunately already a former client because of this issue). However, I do not think that disabling mu-plugins is a proper fix for this. Most of my clients are end users so proposing such fix to them is really a no go for me.

    WPengine offers 60 days money back guarantee so I guess it will be worth it to sign with them just to find a fix for this. I am willing to register there and test it myself, but I will need some assistance on what exactly to change in the code of Tailor to make it work.

    For anyone else landing here with WP Engine + Tailor troubles, the issue is WP Engine’s blocking of the WP Heartbeat API. Contact WP Engine support and ask them to unblock the API so you can use Tailor, which should be very quick to do.

    An alternative DIY option is to install the plugin https://github.com/PrysPlugins/WPE-Allow-Heartbeat (must upload it yourself, not available through the WordPress admin UI) and try to add the Tailor editor URLs to the whitelist it provides, which should also enable Heartbeat. I haven’t tested that.

    I’ve opened an issue in the Tailor GitHub repository with these details as well.
