Hi, I have a feeling I’m being really stupid here but I want to display Nextgen Image tags below gallery thumbnails. I then want it so that when you click on a tag, it loads a page of all thumbnails that have that tag.
I’ve managed to get the tags displaying below the thumbnails but I don’t know how to link them to a page that displays other images with the same tag.
Does that make sense? I hope someone can help, its driving me nuts!
Check out http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/tags/
Basically you can use [ nggtags album=blue ] Note: without the spaces inside the brackets. If you can’t embed the shortcode in your caption tag then maybe just try using a url of the form http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/tags/?gallerytag=blue instead.
I couldn’t get either of the above to work properly. They both build the gallery with the right thumbnail images in it but the thumbnails don’t link to the correct places. My gallery setup is a little different than most so perhaps that why it fails for me – good luck.
Thanks for the reply Toshi.
I got it to work in the end by setting up a page with [ tagcloud ] shortcode in it, then adding this to view>gallery.php thumbnail section
<?php foreach ( $tags as $tag ) : ?> <a href="<?php bloginfo('url'); ?>/?page_id=106&gallerytag=<?php echo $tag->slug; ?>"> • <?php echo $tag->name; ?></a> <?php endforeach; ?> <?php $social_sharing_toolkit = new MR_Social_Sharing_Toolkit(); echo $social_sharing_toolkit->create_bookmarks(); ?>
No idea why it only works with the tagcloud shortcode but it does!
