  • Hello,

Can anyone recommend one or more plugins for adding tags and/or categories to static pages?

    Thanks!

  • TAGS4PAGE works fine with my WP 2.5.1 (but doesn’t update the count in term_taxonomy table)

if you want either of those things on pages, then you’re just not doin’ it right.

use posts. put them on pages if you need to, but use posts.

    Thanks for the replies above.

I’ve found the following plugin which supports tags for pages:

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/simple-tags/

And this one which supports categories for pages:

    http://www.stuff.yellowswordfish.com/page-category-plus/

If anyone has experience using them or comparable alternatives, I’d be grateful for any comments/insights.

Re Ivovic’s comment above, according to WordPress’s documentation, pages are supposed to be “timeless” whereas posts are “chronological” in nature. They can however refer to the same subject matter, and there is no reason why they should not be tagged or categorized in the same way.

there’s also no reason why anything you’ve posted there about them needs to necessarily be the case either.

there are many ways to skin a cat…. in fact, everything that needs doing can be done with a post, which can certainly reduce one’s need for plugins.
