Tag showing up as 'Just another…ect in browser even though i have changed it.

    I am setting up a new site. I have changed the tagline which shows up on my website, but when i do a search for my site it comes up with the tagline ‘just another wordpress website’ and also the date is wrong.
    I have tried disabling all the plugins and have even changed themes.
    I am using there theme Customizr now but the theme before had the date on the front page which read 14 may 2015 even though it had the correct date in settings/general.
    when i changed the date formate it changed on website but still showed 14 may 2015 or 14/05/2015.
    I have cleared browser history and tried different web browsers.
