tag & footer

    @ligavox

    Hi guys!
    I installed this wonderful theme on my freehoster account, this weekend I’m working on my first website – here first test: http://provamax2.url.ph/

    I have a question for you about tags in articles: can I hide tags?

    Moreover, at the bottom of my blog/site (the footer, am I right?) where I find “Proudly powered with…¦ Theme…” I would insert something like “unauthorised use of content is prohibited”*. Is it possible to do that?

    Thanks in advance,
    Ciao!

    *I don’t wanna delete the existing line, because I’m very proud of such a great software/theme, I just need to add new words.

    maybe it’s too stupid question… but I spent 2 days searching on google without answer, I still didn’t get a solution to my (and probably many others’) needs 🙁

    Sure, you can hide tags on blog posts. The easiest way is with CSS. Since you’re already running Jetpack, I suggest you activate the Custom CSS module and add your custom CSS there. This way, your CSS won’t be overwritten when you update the theme.

    Using Firebug, I can see that the class surrounding your tags is:

    tags-links

    This means you can hide them with this code:

    .tags-links {
    display: none;
    }

    If you also want to hide the separator pipes (|) you can use this instead:

    .tags-links, .sep {
    display: none;
    }

    Learning how to target your site’s CSS will help you make certain design changes. Here are some very helpful posts that will help you customize your site with CSS:

    If you don’t plan to display your tags anywhere, just remove the tags from your posts. You can do this in bulk by using the Quick Edit feature under Posts.

    I’ll answer the other part of your question separately.

    You can add new text after the existing footer text with some CSS like this:

    #colophon:after {
        content: "Unauthorised use of content is prohibited";
    }

    Add this code to your Jetpack Custom CSS.

    It will look something like this:

    On single posts, it is a bit trickier to hide just the tags with CSS, but you can hide the entire entry-meta class with this code:

    .single .entry-meta {
         display: none;
    }

    Wow, Thank you so much Kathryn!
    I’ll follow your steps and I’ll give you feedback as soon as possible.
    Have a nice week! 🙂
