[resolved] Tag cloud questions (5 posts)

    Hello, I run a stie at http://www.rocktorch.com/ using the Copyblogger theme.

    I have 2 questions about the tag cloud:

    1. I seem to have reached the maximum number of tags since new tags are no longer being displayed. How can I surface more tags?

    2. I also would like to show the tags in list format instead of a cloud. How can I do that?

    I was instructed to make changes in my 'Template Tag,' but I don't see a 'Tag' template file listed in the right column of the 'edit themes' area.

    Or do I need to create this file and upload it?

    Apologies if these are simple questions...This is my first blog!

    Template tags are basically the functions that tell WordPress what to display. http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/

    You'll probably want to use the function <?php wp_tag_cloud( $args ); ?> (http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/wp_tag_cloud)

    The Template Tag, wp_tag_cloud(), has the number=xx argument where xx is the number of tags to display and the format=list argument.

    If you use widgets with your theme, consider downloading and installing Otto's PHP Code Widget.

    Then put this in one of those widgets:

    <?php wp_tag_cloud('number=100&format=list'); ?>

    That will list 100 tags in list format.

    Oops, Wex got there first--forgot to refresh...

    This is great...it worked. Thanks for your help.

    Do you have any advice on how to add an extra column for widgets to my blog and how to add more tabs to the top navigation bar?

    Again, the blog is at http://rocktorch,com

    Many thanks!
