    Bonsoir Loïc,

I am actually not setting any font family for the tag cloud so that it’s inheriting it from it’s parent (or from it’s nearest parent for which a font-family is defined).

Have you tried setting the font-family on “canvas.tagcloud-canvas” ?

Since there is an option for the tagcanvas to set the font-family, I’ll try to expose it to the settings of the plugin. I’ll post another message once it’s available.

    Salut Loïc,

I’ve implemented a setting for the widget in version 1.1. The additional setting is called “Font family”. You can type in there the font-family you want to use to generate the terms. If it’s empty, it just uses whatever is inherited (which was the way it was until now).

Please give it a try and let me know whether it works for you.

    Regards,

    Henri

    Hello Henri,

I wonder why we do write in English, considering that French seems to have no mystery for you, but…

I suppose that pixels have more to do with the generated PNG images, blowing up in a content “100% width”. When I look at the originally generated image (control click) it seems to be 300px wide. When the content block is wider than 300px, it starts to stretch, destroying the quality, zooming into the original 300px image to, let’s say, 600px width.

I’m am certainly wrong, but, if not, how can we have a HD image generated?

Thank you again for that very nice plugin!

    à très bientôt,

    Loïc

No, even though I’ve been living abroad for over 15 years, french wouldn’t be a problem but then nobody would be able to understand what we write…

I’ve uploaded an update (version 1.2). There are now 2 more settings for the widget: width and height. 0 means that no specific width or height should be used. If can set them to a higher value. These two parameters specify the dimensions of the bitmap image that the browser uses to draw the canvas. The 3D cloud will still be stretched to 100% but if you set the width and height to a value matching the largest possible dimensions, then the 100% width will only stretch down to a smaller size which will not result in a pixelized image.

If you’re using the shortcode to display the tag cloud in a post or page, you can add these two parameters as well e.g.:

    [showtagcloud taxonomy=category format=array number=10 order_by=count order=DESC width=474 height=300]

Please let me know if this works for you.

    Thank you so Much Henri!
Indeed changing the width resolve some problems, but…hhmmmmm:
I do have another question, sorry:
-Can we change the shape of the “globe” to have a kind of oval who could fit in a 16/9 screen? I’m just interested to know.
It would be nice to have your cloud on the front page taking all the width of the screen, but then, the ratio of the globe is more or less 4/3, and will push the other blocks down a lot, obviously.
Do you see what I mean? like: [–––––] instead of: [–]
I know we could use zooming, but I would prefer keeping the globe shape instead of having the type going out of the frame.

Don’t tell me that you stayed 15 years in France…idée étrange.
    And thank you again!

I am actually french but moved to Germany 15 years ago. So my written French is probably not that good anymore (and for sure worse than my written German) but you can’t completely forget your native language.

I’ve uploaded a new version of the plugin (1.4). There are 3 new settings for radius X, radius Y and radius Z.

If you’re using the short code, you need to use something like:

    [showtagcloud radiusx=2 radiusy=1 radiusz=2 taxonomy=post_tag format=array order_by=count order=DESC width=625 height=300]

Oh, I see, I spent 20 Years abroad, then back, call that a mistake (being back).

Excellent things these radius x y z. It does transform the shape of the cloud indeed. Quite hard to change these without having type moving outside the frame, but I will try harder!

If you can make visual links between those tags who are related, like the “brain” thing, you tell us!

    Bravo Monsieur,
    Danke sehr,
    L
