• Hi all,

I just moved my WP site to a new server/url and now a <title> tag is appearing in the title bar of my browsers.

As in: <title>This is My Page Title
    (no closing tag, though, ha)

Please help! I don’t know how to resolve and fear this has something to do with switching databases.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

I’ve actually tried both, which is why I think it might be either a WP thing or a database thing.

Have you ever edited the TwentyTen theme? The <title></title> tag is applied by the header.php template file in a theme.

I just tried the twenty-ten. That seems to do away with the problem. Now I’m thinking it IS the theme, because I just upgraded (and then forgot, d’oh). Well, I guess I’m off to their forums.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

    You’re welcome.

Also, just figured out the problem with your help. In my theme I also had a <title> php title </title> in the header. I deleted the title tags and that fixed the problem.

    Thank you!
