Upgrade to version 2.0.3 and all tables disappeared. Cannot add new tables, cannot see to edit existing tables. The tables do still function correctly and are visible to visitors, so not a mission critical issue. Please help replace my tables.

UPDATE: Going into settings and downgrading to version 2.0.2 made all the tables I’ve created show in the list, and I can create new tables. So, this appears to be a work around until issue is resolved with the newer version.

Magically without me changing anything, today it now lists the tables after upgrading to 2.0.3, but when I try to edit an existing table it gives an error of table not found and now goes to blank screen. Downgrading to 2.0.2 and again everything works. So it’s back to the original issue of not allowing me to use newest version – only inside of WP Admin (Still works as it should for visitors)

Issues that are petty and might have been fixed already in newer version, but I can’t use newest version yet:
    Version 2.0.2

    Table Names:
Table Name: Old Builder shows Table Name as
    “Item – Category – Information”
New Builder shows Table Name as
    “Item – Category – Information”

    Custom HTML
Adding a Custom HTML Element and putting a hyperlink with a target=”_blank” opens the link in the same tab instead of opening a new one.

    Text Link Colors
Is there a way that if I insert a link it can just default to the color structure of the website for non visited links (blue) and hovered and visited links (#ff0000). Right now I can choose a color for text (black) and a link (#ff0000) but it is constantly that color of Red for the links and stays that color always.

Please help me fix all these issues and provide step by step details and I will complete the requested tasks.

Color issue is resolved but adding new table with New Builder doesn’t list new table I created for the test (test – Retro Game Box) but it lists the table in Old Builder

Also one of my tables does not show at all in WP Admin in either Builders but still shows on webpage to visitors.

Please help and give step by step instructions and I will follow them.

Please help me resolve issues I’m having with your plugin. I’m not blaming your plugin solely, I want it resolved. I would like to use the newest version and the New Builder. Currently I found out in version 2.0.2 using the New Builder, it appears to be working correctly, and says it saves… but the changes don’t show on the website, using the Legacy Builder it saves and the changes actually display on the webpage correctly

Just solved it. Clearing the browser cache and restarting the page makes it work ok 🙂

Not for me unfortunately. I am not running a cache plugin and cleared my browser cache multiple times.

@rexwilliamson You have listed some problems and some of them were resolved.
If the problem is with listing or saving contents, please share the http response of the related request like this:
    xDeM5Ya.png (775×965)
Note: filter by wp-table-builder for easily finding them

And if the problem is related to content itself, send us the link to a table where the issue happens.

    Thread Starter rexwilliamson

    (@rexwilliamson)

I unfortunately do not see what you have in the picture, I only have 2 to choose from as seen here:

    https://1drv.ms/i/c/95d9b88a8f9a0116/EeSTQjViAvRIjMFH4lG9gYIBN4IzKYYVcWlhR_frCejb3g?e=JHJxEf

test – Retro Game Box is where the link in custom html automatically removes the target=’_blank” from the link upon saving. The majority of the time it messes up in wp admin. Either can’t make new tables, can’t edit tables. Seems the majority fixes itself if I use 2.0.2 and only the Old Builder.

The above table in webpage was done in 2.0.2 and old builder.

I was wondering if I deleted the plugin would it also remove the tables? I wanted to install it manually versus having WordPress do it for me

    (@protibimbok)

Let’s summarize the issues found on the latest version (v2.0.3) and their current status:

    1. Removal of _target attribute in custom html. (Status: working on it)
    2. Some warnings and errors: did not see those in your table, neither can we reproduce it. So, assuming it to be not related to our plugin. (Status: Invalid)
    3. Tables are not listed or does not save: you have to provide the response as shown in the image. (Status: Needs more information) xDeM5Ya.png (775×965)

    (@rexwilliamson)

I clicked on your link previously, obviously or I could not have tried to do what you asked for. Did you bother to view the image I sent you? I only have 2 listed. Did you not read my question in last post either? If you cannot recreate my issues and can’t see them in my table… then we are at an impasse and unfortunately you can’t fix these issues I’m having only with your plugin. I am not a programmer and cannot see what you are wanting, and I’ve never heard of what you’re asking for. It’s unfortunate I’m having so much trouble after it auto updated on its own, I created some extremely large and detailed tables that I can no longer see, edit and save properly (just says it saved, but changes just saved do not appear on website), create new tables, font color changes if I reenter a previously completed cell, unless I use older version along with older buil… I’m sorry if I sound irritated but I’ve spent a few days on some of these tables, and it says saved but truly did not, so the time was completely wasted. Does this plugin have any known compatibility issues with any other plugins?

I truly appreciate you fixing some of the issues and appreciate the time and effort you are putting into my issues. I really like your plugin, if working properly it has all the features I need. I plan on getting a paid membership in a few months to show my appreciation and support the plugin development, and its team. I’m on a very fixed income for now and it will take a few months for me to save up.

    (@allayn17)

Reverted to 2.0.2, auto update put it back to 2.0.3 – and it’s now working…. very odd.

    Plugin Contributor Saad

    (@protibimbok)

    @rexwilliamson

I did view the image and read through all of your replies
and that’s exactly why I had to summarize the key remaining problems.

First you reported the issue of tables not being shown, edited or added.
Then you reported back that it was solved but now edit page does not work.
You added something about showing table name, which is exactly same in both cases
and there is no way for us to even understand the problem.
    Two more issues were raised.
1.target=”_blank” (which we could reproduce and has been fixed for the next release)
    2.text link colors.

And then again you reported back that the lin color issue was resolved and that you can create new tables but it does not appear in the list of the new builder.

And then you reported some errors and warnings without specifying where they appear (in the builder or frontend).

See how it is confusing and hard to keep track of? Moreover they are getting resolved automatically!

You have to understand that we only release a product only after making sure everything works as expected.
Which means, a lot of these problems are unique to specific installations. Therefore, we cannot solve it without knowing every details that we ask from the users.

Let’s sit back and try it once more (saving issue).

    1. Open a table you want to edit in the new builder
    2. Open the network tab as shown in the image
    3. Make the changes and hit save
    4. Notice the request that appears as soon as you hit save
    5. Share the response of that specific request
    Thread Starter rexwilliamson

    (@rexwilliamson)

Thank you for your instructions. Without auto-updates through WordPress, turned off, as a previous commenter stated it somehow just automatically updated to 2.0.3 on its own. I choose new builder, and I can now see all my tables. I can edit the tables, and it appears it now saves and can be viewed on the website.

It appears that from testing since it updated even though auto updates were disabled, it seems to have fixed itself without me doing anything.

So now the only problem I currently see, because of my OCD (CDO because I have to alphabetize everything is the Table Names as described above – just reread and I put the same name for both builders – sorry for the confusion.

    Version 2.0.3

    Table Names:
Table Name: Old Builder shows Table Name as
    “Item – Category – Information”
New Builder shows Table Name as
    Item – Category – Information

This is in the list of all tables. If I go into edit the table in the New Builder it shows the table name correctly with the dashes.
    Example:
    Old Builder
    https://1drv.ms/i/c/95d9b88a8f9a0116/EaentafrQNRNre7fKK5ZTOsB39X7v4vRCcrHsFua4nO4vg?e=kSJIKJ
    New Builder
    https://1drv.ms/i/c/95d9b88a8f9a0116/EfbIvrt75O5GtZjQihiwHSMBaodnJWRrJ8SlhgSw0BbFxw?e=KoLquG

Not that it’s needed now, but I found what you were asking for…

    https://1drv.ms/i/c/95d9b88a8f9a0116/EeSTQjViAvRIjMFH4lG9gYIBN4IzKYYVcWlhR_frCejb3g?e=OhxnIQ

So now all important issues are resolved, all that’s left is a non-critical, non-mission critical displaying of table names to display the same in both builders with the dashes in the name –

Thank you for all the work to resolve these issues and for putting up with me. 🙂

The New Builder when I type what it shows it automatically switches it to show a dash instead of what I type “&# 8211;” without the space in it. You can see it in one of the 3 pictures I added

Color issue with New Builder in 2.0.3
New Builder Links and Text stay black, even after clearing the color.

Switch to Old Builder and the clearing the color works.

Size issue for images – arrows work and change the size
In New Builder it works correctly

In Old Builder if I try typing the size of the image of 50%, it either automatically chooses 10 or 100. I cannot type 50 and get 50 I get 10

In the video below, I’m typing 50 in the Old Builder
