TablePress Whole Word Search

Hi, Tobias,

Is there a way to have the search results based only on whole words?

For example, currently a table entry such as

“Showing forth the presence”

Will be selected in a search for “how”

This is unlikely to match the user’s request.

Any advice will be helpful.

Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

I see what you mean, but unfortunately, I haven’t yet found a way to easily change this in the external JavaScript library that is used for the searching. Sorry 🙁

Greetings @tobiasbg ,

On my site https://wdcsafetyllc.com/ I would like to implement a search similar to the one on this page https://safcoconstructionservices.com/studentlookup (ENTER CODE 4Q5333 IN SEARCH BOX). when i try to achieve with tablepress i have run into the following problems:

1- getting response to only appear after full search key is entered

2- HOW CAN I GET NO RECORD TO APPEAR WHEN TABLE WITH TABLEPRESS FIRST APPEARS?

3- HOW CAN I GET ONLY THE RECORD THAT I SEARCH FOR TO APPEAR?

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE. THIS IS A PHENOMENAL PLUGIN

Hi,

for this, I recommend to use the TablePress Row Filter Extension from https://tablepress.org/extensions/row-filter/
In addition, the TablePress Extension from https://tablepress.org/extensions/shortcode-filter-get-parameter/ can be helpful for that.
You would then need a custom search form (just some HTML code).
