[Resolved] Tablepress reports cannot save changes

  • To be fair, I’m not savvy enough to know if this is a WP beta bug or a plugin issue.
The well respected Tablepress reports Ajax error or cannot save under WP 3.7 beta 2, but then saves it OK

Have you tried contacting the plugin’s author about this?

    Hi,
To be honest,no. But I wasn’t sure if you should expect plugin authors to be on top of future releases of WordPress, or whether to wait until the problem is apparent in a current WP release???

“Expect” might be pushing it a little for free plugins that are often developed & supported by one man (or one woman) teams. But in an ideal world, yes, plugin developers should be testing their plugins in the core beta releases asap. That said, it could be that the plugin dev simply hasn’t spotted a particular issue because of differences in hosting environments etc.

On balance, I think most plugin devs would appreciate a heads-up whilst 3.7 is still in beta.

OK, thanks, will do. The guy who wrote this one is always very accommodating, so as you say, he will hopefully appreciate the heads-up.

For the big/popular plugins (like TablePress), yes, we expect them to be testing once Beta WP hits.

    Hi,

just as a quick update: I’ve already added a fix to this issue in the current development version of the plugin, and will release that as part of a new version in time for WP 3.7.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

There ya go. Sorted. Good man Tobias, and all the WP crew. Thanks guys.
