Hi,
thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.
This indicates a problem with the user access rights .I’m not sure what happened there, but resetting the capabilities should do the trick.
To do that, go to http://your-site.com/wp-admin/options.php in the browser. You should then see the list of “WordPress Options” with input fields to change them. (This is a powerful screen in WordPress, so be careful.)
Scroll down to the “tablepress_plugin_options” option. In that text field (be very careful), change the number after “plugin_options_db_version” to a 0 (it should be 34 right now, I think). Then save the changes.
That will reset some stuff inside TablePress internally and should also re-add the capabilities, so that you can then see the TablePress entry in the admin menu.
Regards,
Tobias

Hi,
ok, then something else may be hiding it. If possible, I’d like to take a direct look at this on your site. Could you therefore please get in touch via email (the address is in the main plugin file “tablepress.php”)? That way, I can investigate this directly. Thanks!

Tobias
Hi,
thanks! I’ll take a look.

Tobias,
I’m having the exact same issue, the Tablepress option on the Admin menu is missing. Also tried your solution of the changing the number after “plugin_options_db_version” to a 0, but that didn’t work. Please let me know if you know of any other fixes.
Thanks,
Sharon
Hi Sharon,
in ducmu’s case, the problem was caused by missing access capabilities. Likely, this was caused by some issue with the User Role Editor plugin that he has installed.
We needed to restore these access rights according to the list from https://wordpress.org/support/topic/tablepress-admin-capabilites-problems/#post-3524864
Are you using a plugin like that for user role management as well? If so, could you try adding the capabilities again via that plugin?
Regards,
Tobias
Hi Tobias,
Yes, I have User Role Editor as well but all those capabilities are checked.

Hi Sharon,
while looking very similar, the capabilities that include “tablepress” in your screenshot are not the relevant ones here. (Those are the ones used for internal access to the so-called “Custom Post Types”.)
Please try adding the ones from my link.
Regards,
Tobias
Thanks Tobias! That worked.
Sharon
Hi Sharon,
great! 🙂 Thanks for the confirmation!
Best wishes,
Tobias
