Table with entries that can be highlighted

Hello,

I have a (probably) newb-ish question.

Is it possible to have many tables on a page and it’s entries can be “marked” with a tag of some sort so when a user clicks its “tag” button, they get highlighted in the table?

To better explain what I am trying to achieve, here is an example image.

Is wordpress even appropriate for this kind of thing?
If so how would the data be entered?

Maybe there’s another solution outside WP? A WISIWYG editor? (I don’t have a programming background)
