table border issue

Hi,

I want to display a table in my wordpress page

here is the code

<table width=”500″ border=”1″>

<tr>
<td>Name</td>
<td>Position</td>
</tr>

</table>

it shows the width as 500 px but i dont see the border as 1

can someone tellme what i am doing wrong
