• Hi,
I think that Tabbed Widgets is really great! It will be even better if I can get it to work!

I’m thinking that it might be a theme thing. I am using Atahualpa.

What I am seeing is that anything I place in the “Invisible Widget Area” is invisible. When I place Tabbed Widgets in the sidebar, still ok… When I add the items in the Invisible Widget area to Tabbed Widgets I get no tabbed widgets in my sidebar… but the widgets I have selected in Tabbed Widgets show up in my sidebar as ordinary widgets. No sign of anything tabbed.

I’m uptodate on WP, PHP, etc…

Other plugins I have use jquery… maybe a conflict there?

  • Hi Kaspar,

This widget is exactly what I was looking for but like some of the others in this forum it does not work. I placed the widgets I want in the tabbed section in the invisble widget area (popular posts and daily posts) but when they appear in the sidebar they are not tabbed but appear beneath each other and without the configuration settings for the plugin Top 10 – that the widgets are related to.

I am guessing that it is a theme problem and that your plugin, as fantastic as it is – will not work with certain themes. I am using the Proximity News Theme. In fact there was a tabbed section in the original theme but I removed it as it used Popularity Contest which I did not like and most commented and one would not work without the other.

So I use popular posts and daily posts as two separate widgets. See People with Voices

I suspect that that all that would be needed to get it to work would be a few adjustment to the original code in the jtabber.php file that controls the tabbed section and in the sidebar.php file and customs css file. Howevever, although I have been able to make some minor modifications with guidance I do not understand php code and would hate to mess up my website.

I have had to keep the widgets as they were as I run a news site and can’t afford to have the tabbed widgets not displaying properly on my website. Do you think you can get this to work and if so at what cost? (We are a social enterprise/voluntary organisation)

    Thanks

baglierd, could you please create a temporary admin account for me. My email is kaspars at konstruktors.com and I’ll have a look.

baglierd, just noticed that your theme doesn’t use unique IDs for widgets, which are necessary for Tabbed Widgets to work (see here: http://konstruktors.com/blog/wordpress/322-tabbed-widgets-plugin-for-wordpress/)

I had problems with the “tabs” appearing too, and did check to insure that my theme does use unique IDs, which it does. After troubleshooting I found an apparent conflict with the WP-e-commerce plug that I use for my “e-store”. It uses J-scripts. When I deactivated this plugin the “tabs” appeared and the “tabbed-widget” worked fine. When I reactivated the WP-e-commerce plugin, the tabs quit working, suggesting some kind of conflict. Any suggestions?

    WP 2.9.2; WP-e-Commerce 3.7.6.5

    Thanks

Tabbed Widget not working, Version 3.0.1
I have created my own design theme and i am using Addw2p-tabbed widget to show any widgets it gives code like [addw2p name=”Tabbed Widget”] to appear any widgets to your post or page, but it is not appear on my post

habibdie, your problem is caused by the “Addw2p” plugin not Tabbed Widgets.

This widget looks to be impressive, but like others it appears to be conflicting with other things on my site.

The widgets show up one under the other instead of being tabbed and another item (loan calculator) that I had in the sidebar is not showing up correctly.

    Any ideas?
