# Syntax errors, help.

 * I’m using your most current version but these items are showing up. How can I
   fix them?
 * This is what’s in there but still it says Syntax errors.
 * [first-name] [last-name] [email] [tel-541]
    This field has syntax errors.
 * 2 configuration errors found
 * [contact-form-7 id=”9″ title=”Contact Us”]
 * Failed to send message.

 * I will need you to clarify what you mean by saying they won’t show up. From what
   you showed me, the form shouldn’t work.
 * It should be as follows:
 * [text first-name] [text last-name] [email email] [tel telephone]
 * You have to define the element it will be, then you include the name. You essentially
   only defined the names.
 * Please let me know if you need more clarification!

 * On the Mail tab, then From I have this
 * [your-name] [your-email]
    This field has syntax errors.
 * Why? Should I have the same email address in this field as what’ in the To field?

 * What you just sent me is exactly the same code I sent you. No difference. Space
   where?

 * The only way the error message goes away is to put a valid email address in that
   field so I put the same one in the From as there is the To field. Is that correct?

 * No, technically it is from [wordpress@your-website.com](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/syntax-errors-help-1/wordpress@your-website.com?output_format=md).
 * For instance my contact forms say the from address is [wordpress@greenteam760.com](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/syntax-errors-help-1/wordpress@greenteam760.com?output_format=md).
 * That is the default.
    I would try doing that. If you want to know the e-mail 
   address of who it is from… put it in the “subject” field.
 * Subject: [your-name] [your-email]

    [wordpress@my-website-domain-name.com](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/syntax-errors-help-1/wordpress@my-website-domain-name.com?output_format=md)
   and not the email address that’s in the To field?
